Executive Chairman of the McDan Group of companies, Dr Daniel McKorley has extended a helping hand to a physically challenged entrepreneur to augment his efforts.
This forms part of the Group’s continues pursuit of growing business innovation among young entrepreneurs across the country.
Dr McKorley made the gesture at Wa, the Upper West Regional capital where the McDan Entrepreneur Challenge was held over the weekend.
The McDan Group founder made a personal GH¢50,000 donation to the physically challenged entrepreneur whose business ideas could not pass the test of assessment.
According to him, even though it missed the mark, the idea showed great promise worthy of support.
Already in its 6th year, the innovative McDan entrepreneur challenge has led to the provision of significant seed funding for many startups and enabled the spawning of many others.
This year’s northern qualification event which was held at Wa, saw the participation of senior high school students and university students from across the northern regions and was very keenly contested.
The event was heavily attended by the chiefs and people of the north and other dignitaries from Accra.
